Dead, preserved ones, that is. OKGwidget commends our governor and the first lady for celebrating the eve of Oklahoma's centennial with a bunch of corpses. Gov. Henry was spotted Thursday night at the opening of the "Our Body: The Universe Within" exhibit at the Omniplex Science Museum Oklahoma. The show features plasticized human corpses that are cut open so you can see their innards. Gnarly!

Today was the dedication ceremony for the Flaming Lips Alley in Bricktown, which of course is named after our beloved homegrown psychedelic rockers. Hundreds showed up for the fanfare and confetti. Wayne said “fucking” in front of city officials and we all had a much merrier morning. 

Retired general and former secretary of state Colin Powell was in Norman yesterday and OKGwidget was there to crash the party. After speaking to students, Powell hosted a "dialogue" with members of OU's "President's Associates," many of whom shell out God-knows-how-much every year, and drive hours to watch invited politicos on a giant screen in another room where they aren't speaking.

Things learned:
1) Sitting in a plaid chair rather than standing is the only difference between a "dialogue" and a "diatribe."
2) "Reception" doesn't mean "drinks" or even "cash bar."
3) Powell sounds like Leonard Nimoy.
