Today was the dedication ceremony for the Flaming Lips Alley in Bricktown, which of course is named after our beloved homegrown psychedelic rockers. Hundreds showed up for the fanfare and confetti. Wayne said “fucking” in front of city officials and we all had a much merrier morning. 

You're looking at a pair of Flaming Lips leader Wayne Coyne's shoes, to be given away to one 94.7 The Buzz listener in conjunction with the Oct. 27 Gazette's Ghouls Gone Wild Halloween Parade. Coyne and the Lips are serving as grand marshal, so you need no other reason to go (although there are plenty more).

The Oklahoma City Public Schools foundation has named Flaming Lips front man Wayne Coyne a “Wall of Fame Humanitarian” for his contributions to the city. If you have $150, mark your calendar for Oct. 25 and head to the Skirvin Hotel. Bring your black tie or bloody bunny suit.
